Zoey Deutch is showing some love for her fiancé, Jimmy Tatro.

The Voicemails for Isabelle actress, 31, caught up with PEOPLE at the rom-com's Los Angeles premiere on June 16, and dished on her own romance with her comedian fiancé, Tatro, 34. The couple, who started dating five years ago, announced their engagement in September 2025.

Deutch's real-life relationship with Tatro has all the fixings of the beloved genre, which she's embraced several times with Set It Up, The Threesome and Something from Tiffany's.

"I'm very romantic and my fiancé is very comedic," Deutch tells PEOPLE, adding, "He makes me laugh the hardest of anyone."

The actress and comedian first started dating in 2021, and went public with their relationship the same year. In September 2025, the couple revealed in a joint Instagram post that they'd gotten engaged, with Deutch calling Tatro the "love of my life" in the caption.

Months later, Deutch revealed she knew Tatro was going to propose — and he knew that she knew, she told Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show. The pair were on vacation in Corsica, and while Deutch picked up on all Tatro's inadvertent hints, she was still surprised by the setting, the ring and what her fiancé said in his proposal, she said, and called it "one of the best nights of my life."

Tatro joined Deutch on the red carpet at the premiere of Voicemails for Isabelle, which follows Jill (Deutch) as she grieves her late sister Isabelle (Ciara Bravo) by sending "hilariously confessional voicemails," which end up being rerouted to a stranger, Wes (Nick Robinson) — thus forging an unlikely romance between the two of them.

Deutch says she was especially drawn to Voicemails for Isabelle not just for the romantic love story, but for its moving themes of enduring sisterhood. The actress and her sister, Madelyn, have their own profound bond, she says.

"My sister's my best friend in the world," Deutch says. "And I read this about seven years ago and fell in love with it, and I've wanted to make it ever since. Because to me, at its core, it's a sister love story."
