Tom Brady is opening up about his brutal roast.
Last year, the 7-time Super Bowl Champion was the subject of a Netflix special titled The Roast of Tom Brady. Hosted by Kevin Hart and "roastmaster general" Jeff Ross, the event featured roasts from celebrities like Nikki Glaser and Kim Kardashian as well as Brady's former teammate Rob "Gronk" Gronkowski and old coach Bill Belichick.
The roast included jokes surrounding Brady's divorce from Gisele Bündchen, Deflategate, and Brady losing to Eli Manning in the Super Bowl twice, among others.

During the Wednesday, Dec. 17 episode of The Big Podcast hosted by NBA legend Shaquille O'Neal, Brady revealed his true feelings on the now infamous roast.
"So you weren't mad?" O'Neal asked.
"No I wasn't mad," Brady responded. "I love being made fun of, because when they make fun of you, you know, they know you're comfortable with [them]."
"If they're comfortable with you, they make fun of you. Then you know you're really friends," he continued. "I think people that never make fun of you... I'm like is this real or not? Like in a locker room. All you do is make fun of people. I made every joke of Gronk and Julian [Edelman] … everybody. It’s just, that’s what we do."
"When we did that in the roast, it was funny, because you know that all those guys who are doing that are your brothers," he added.
"See I thought you were uncomfortable," O'Neal replied, before cracking a joke. "So I kind of said, 'You know, maybe I shouldn't do it,' but because you said you're comfortable — Jeff Ross, holler at me."

During another podcast appearance earlier this year, Brady expressed regret about doing the roast due to the impact the jokes surrounding his divorce and familylife had on his kids — even calling it a “major parenting f--k-up” at the time.
“I’ll never forget when I talked to my kids the next day,” Brady said at the time. “I felt like a stake through the heart, understandably.”
Brady and Bündchen were married from 2009 to 2022, and the pair share children Benjamin, 16, and Vivian, 13. The retired football player also shares sonJack, 18, with his ex, actress Bridget Moynahan.
Bündchen recently married jiu-jitsu instructor Joaquim Valente in early December, shortly after the pair welcome their first child together — a baby boy — in February. The name of the child has yet to be shared publicly.
