When one season of The Bachelor wraps, the same question always follows: Who’s getting the next call? ABC hasn’t officially revealed who will lead the upcoming season yet, but one rising Netflix star says his phone actually did ring — and while he passed on handing out roses, he’s not ruling out a surprise appearance someday.
During an exclusive interview with Parade, Pierson Fodé opened up about being contacted by the long-running reality franchise and why he ultimately said no.
“I don’t know how high up this went, but I actually did get that phone call,” Fodé, 34, shared. “I was so honored that they even thought of me for that. But I was just like, ‘I’m so busy right now,’ and I think my first and foremost love is making movies.”

The actor explained his schedule was packed with filming commitments, leaving little room for reality TV. “I just don’t have enough time right now. I’m exhausted,” he recalled telling them. Still, he admitted the door isn’t completely closed. “Deep down, I still really want to go do a surprise visit on one of the shows. I think it’d be really fun,” he said, adding that if he ever found himself with a rare break in his schedule, a guest appearance on a friend’s show is something he’d happily consider: “I think that’d be really fun and funny!”
Fodé’s connection to the franchise isn’t random. In Netflix’s romantic comedyThe Wrong Paris, released September 12, 2025, he stars opposite Miranda Cosgrove as Trey McAllen III, a charming cowboy bachelor at the center of a reality-style dating show. Cosgrove plays a hopeful contestant who signs up thinking she’s headed to Paris, France, only to discover she’s been sent to Paris, Texas instead.

The role helped position Fodé as a rising rom-com lead and, as he revealed during a September 2025 appearance on Harry Jowsey’s Boyfriend Material podcast, is likely what first put him on The Bachelor’s radar. During that conversation, the Bold and the Beautiful alum said “either casting or one of the producers” reached out after seeing the trailer. He described it as a “very quick conversation” and said he ultimately passed because he was “so busy” filming. (At the time, Fodé was filming multiple projects, including Robert Zemeckis’ thriller The Last Mrs. Parrish opposite Jennifer Lopez.)
But while reality TV may not be in the cards right now, Fodé hasn’t exactly been slowing down. The former Disney star recently popped up on one of the year’s biggest broadcasts, appearing alongside the Backstreet Boys in a Super Bowl LX commercial for T-Mobile, where the group delivered a playful reimagining of their iconic hit “I Want It That Way.”

The version swapped the original lyrics for tongue-in-cheek references to streaming, travel, and other phone-plan perks, while Fodé made a blink-and-you-miss-it appearance holding his now-famous handmade sign.
