- *The Pitt* star Supriya Ganesh, who is not returning for season 3, has shared whether she thinks Mohan got a letter of recommendation from Abbot.

- The plot point was left open-ended at the end of season 2.

- "I think there's a big reason why she wants to go to him and ask for that letter of rec," Ganesh tells EW.

No matter where Dr. Mohan winds up, Supriya Ganesh believes she got that endorsement she wanted.

In the 10th episode of season 2 of *The Pitt*, Mohan (Ganesh) is looking for Dr. Abbot (Shawn Hatosy) before being told that he had just gone home to get some sleep before his night shift. The senior resident, uncertain about her future, was seeking a letter of recommendation from her (favorite?) attending for a fellowship application. The plot point is not addressed again for the rest of the season, and with Mohan not returning for season 3, one must wonder if she ever got that letter from him.

"I think so for sure. I would hope so!" Ganesh tells **. "I think they have a pretty good relationship."

To say the least. Abbot has always had Mohan’s back — a cut line from the pilot saw him calling her the smartest one there — and he walked her through a dicey heart procedure during the PittFest mass casualty incident in season 1.

"I think there's a big reason why she wants to go to him and ask for that letter of rec," Ganesh continues. "Because there is that comfortability there. And I'm sad she didn't get to ask it on the shift, but, I mean, he's busy saving lives, and she's also busy saving lives."

During the aforementioned procedure, Abbot casually flirts with an oblivious Mohan. Not oblivious were *Pitt* fans, who immediately shipped Mohabbot. They got some crumbs in the seventh episode of season 2, when Mohan accidentally walks in on a shirtless Abbot. As she fixes up the wound on his back, he encourages her to send the home kit she had prepared for her diabetic patient in medical debt who had left the hospital. When she sarcastically asks who'll pay for the Uber, Abbot tells her he'll pay for it himself.

Ganesh has previously said she didn't think Mohan knew Abbot was flirting with her during the MCI and hoped she would realize it "over the next year." Season 2 is set 10 months later. So has she?

"I really don't think so," Ganesh says with a laugh. "I think that scene in episode 7 helps her feel seen by someone who is her superior. I think she has that with Dr. Al-Hashimi (Sepideh Moafi), but I think the fact that he doesn't, like, laugh in her face when she, when she says, 'I want to Uber this to his place,' [and] that he's even almost like, *let me be your collaborator in this thing that you're doing that's a little against the rules*, I think that feels really special to her because she feels supported and she feels seen."

She adds, "So if anything, it sort of opens a door for her to realize that this person does really respect her."

Ganesh notes that Mohan and Abbot didn't even have a lot of scenes together in the first two seasons — "crazy to think about" — but she's for sure going to miss working with Hatosy.

"It was so great working with Shawn," she says. "I really loved it and really enjoyed building out that relationship and these characters with him."

Season 3 of *The Pitt* is currently in production. The first two seasons are available on HBO Max.
