Toheeb Jimoh told PEOPLE that he wants to see “a revenge arc” for Coach Lasso in season 4 of the sports comedy-drama
After season 3’s dramatic finale in 2023, the series’ future was up in the air until Apple TV+ confirmed in March 2025 that Ted Lasso had been renewed for a long-awaited fourth season
Jimoh can currently be seen in the new season of HBO’s financial thriller drama Industry, which premiered Jan. 11
Toheeb Jimoh is tired of seeing Coach Lasso lose.
The Ted Lasso star, who played soccer player Sam Obisanya in the series, shared that he is ready to see Ted (Jason Sudeikis) win it all.
Speaking with PEOPLE in an exclusive interview at the season 4 premiere of his latest TV gig — HBO’s Industry — on Jan. 8, the 28-year-old actor revealed what he hopes happens in the fourth season of Ted Lasso.
“My dream to see happen? A funeral for Sam. Wouldn’t that be hilarious? I’m joking, I’m joking, I’m joking, I’m joking. I take it back, I take it back, I take it back,” Jimoh quipped, before sharing his actual wishes for the plot.

Jimoh continued, “I want Ted to actually win something. He’s like, ‘It’s not about the wins and losses.’ I’m like, ‘Win. Win a trophy, bro. Win a trophy.’ ”
“Can you imagine his entire philosophy changes? Great, we’ll get like three more seasons. I’m down for that. Let’s have a revenge arc for Ted Lasso,” he concluded of his dream scenario for Coach Lasso.
After season 3’s dramatic finale in 2023, the show’s future was up in the air until Apple TV+ confirmed in March 2025 that Ted Lasso had been renewed and that Sudeikis would be returning to continue his role as Ted.
Jimoh is among the fan-favorite characters likely not returning for season 4.
At the Jan. 8 Industry red carpet event, Jimoh admitted that he knows “nothing about it at all” when asked about the new season.
“I’m excited to get more info about it when everybody else gets more info about it, like, I actually get to be an audience member for this one, so it’s really exciting,” he said, seemingly confirming not being in season 4.
