Pete Davidson is making a noticeable shift in his body art journey. After years of removing most of his tattoos through expensive and painful sessions, the comedian has now added new ink. His new tattoo carries a personal meaning and marks a new chapter in his life as a father. The update comes while he continues to reduce much of his earlier body art.

Pete Davidson was recently seen with a fresh tattoo that reads “Scottie” placed near his ear (via Entertainment Weekly). The ink is a tribute to his newborn daughter, Scottie, whom he shares with girlfriend Elsie Hewitt. The sighting came during CinemaCon 2026 in Las Vegas, where most of his body appeared almost clear of tattoos, except for this new, personal addition.

Davidson has been actively removing his older tattoos since 2021. At the time, he said he expected to have them all gone by the age of 30. The process, however, has taken longer than planned and has cost him around $200,000 so far. He has described the removal procedure as extremely painful and time-consuming (via Variety).

The former Saturday Night Live cast member has spoken openly about the difficulty of tattoo removal. He explained that each session requires healing time and repeated treatment. In earlier comments, he compared the process to burning layers of skin and needing long recovery periods between sessions. Despite that, he continued with it as part of a personal reset.

Davidson explains, “I have to plan it in between work because it’s a six-week healing process each time you get one removed. So each tattoo is 10 to 12 sessions. That’s 60 weeks of your life right there on just one tattoo to remove.”

He continued, “So, it’s pretty horrible. It’s like putting your arm on a grill and burning off a layer, and then you gotta do maintenance and let it heal properly. And it’s pretty tough. It sucks, I’m not gonna lie.”

Davidson once mentioned that he did not plan to erase every tattoo completely. He even joked about keeping a few, including a design inspired by Hillary Clinton. Still, the majority of his ink has been gradually disappearing over the past few years.
