Mýa recalled performing a lap dance for Carson Daly during a 2003 MTV birthday special with celebrity guests watching
In a new podcast, the singer noted the shocked audience reactions and dropped jaws during the performance
Mýa joked, however, that she wouldn't recreate the moment today
Mýa is recalling a "wildly Y2K moment."
Speaking on a recent episode of Danielle Fishel's Teen Beatpodcast, the singer was asked about the time she performed a lap dance for Carson Daly during a birthday special filmed for MTV, as audience members, including Nicky Hilton and Jessica Simpson, looked on.
"I remember clearly, and I remember all the reactions in the faces. I don't know if they edited it to be that way, but I mean the jaws dropped," Mýa, 46, said."Jaws were on the floor," Fishel, 45, added.

"That was, I think, a shocking moment for myself," the singer added. "This is not going to happen again because I'm not going to be able to fit in those shorts."

The moment took place in June 2003, when the singer surprised the MTV host with an impromptu, on-stage lap dance while performing her hit song "My Love Is Like..."

Years before he joined Today in September 2013, Daly was a fixture on MTV, hosting the wildly popular Total Request Live (TRL) every weekday from 1998 to 2008. The show welcomed the biggest musical and entertainment acts of the day live into its Times Square studio, as Daly and other hosts counted down the top 10 videos as voted by fans that day.
