Melania Trump's absence from the White House has left her husband with "nobody in there," according to the president's former adviser.
The first lady, 56, has sparked widespread speculation about her whereabouts after appearing to take a step back from her White House role. So far this year, Melania has been seen in public for just 38 days and reports have suggested she's done a "vanishing act" from her husband.
Amid the speculation, Donald Trump's former adviser Anthony Scaramucci has suggested the president is now alone in the White House amid Melania's disappearance. It comes as Melania's senior aide revealed what she's been up to behind-the-scenes.

Anthony appeared on the Daily Beast Podcast, where he was asked how Melania's absence from the White House has affected the president in his second term. He replied, "When she was more friendly with him, she would tell him to tone it down and he would actually listen to her. There’s very few people that Trump listens to."

The president's former adviser, who only lasted 11 days in the Trump administration, suggested Melania and Donald Trump's relationship is now "distant." He added, "I think it’s distant for a number of different reasons. But I think they probably have grown apart."

Suggesting a reason for Melania's absence during her husband's second term, Anthony suggested, "The family unit that came into Trump 1.0 didn’t like it. They didn’t like the blistering in Washington. They didn’t like the 360-degree firing squad. I don’t think they like the spotlight that was put on them.
"I think that when he ran again, they all more or less said, ‘Okay, that, you know, that one was on all of us; this one’s on you.'" Ultimately, President Trump "didn't care" his family wouldn't be with him in the White House.
Anthony's comments come after it was claimed the first lady is pursuing business ventures that put her in "direct conflict" with her husband. Journalist Joanna Coles spoke on the Inside Trump's Head podcast and said, "We really have seen almost nothing of the first lady this year, which is why it was a surprise to see her.

"We've seen her, I think, three times this month at UFC at the fireworks. And she was there with Barron at the World Cup final on Sunday. And actually, I looked it up. She's done approximately 14 to 16 public appearances this year."
In response, author Michael Wolff suggested the Trump marriage is the "strangest marriage in the history of all presidential marriages." He continued, "They don't know what she's going to do and they are afraid of it.
"Even more disturbing to the White House is that this business of hers seems to make her the center of attention, which puts her kind of in direct conflict with the President of the United States, who, as we know, can't stand anyone else being the center of attention. Doesn't mind you making money, but do not steal the limelight."
