After returning from the U.K. and reconciling with King Charles III, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry stepped out for a date night in Canada. The couple attended a glitzy charity gala organized by David Foster to celebrate the 40th anniversary of his namesake nonprofit foundation.
While the Duke and Duchess of Sussex shared posts on social media of enjoying themselves at the event, some onlookers found it rather embarrassing particularly after a video of Markle dancing near her table to Adam Levine’s performance surfaced, as people mocked her dance moves “cringe.”

Meghan Markle recently attended David Foster’s gala in a black one-shouldered Greta Constantine Fabrizio gown, while Prince Harry donned a tuxedo with a velvet jacket.
While Markle shared an image and a video from the event, it’s a different clip that went viral on social media, posted by another attendee. The video showed the Duchess grooving. As Adam Levine took the stage to perform at the event, Markle appeared to stand and dance to the music, while others at the table remained seated.
Some have argued that Markle’s dancing embarrassed the prince. Since the gala was a charity event organized to celebrate and raise money for a cause, Markle’s dancing appeared out of place to many.
People soon took to social media to slam the Duchess and accuse her of “attention-seeking behavior.” Taking to the comments, netizens wrote, “Why does she hire someone to film her every move? She’s so weird. She just can’t live.”
Another added, “She has to be seen at all times. Those girls at the front dancing and having fun are unknowingly infuriating her. No one can be in the spotlight.”
A third user even compared Markle to the Kardashians, writing, “Standard attention-getting tactics. Similar to the Kardashians at award shows.”

Netizens also pointed to the prince’s gestures, claiming he seemingly asked his wife to sit down. They wrote, “Looks like Harry tells her to sit down,” while another added, “He told her to sit down.”
Others argued that Markle “wants to be the center of attention & overshadow the event,” while some even slammed her, saying, “She’s an absolute idiot with serious issues.”
David Foster Appeared to Snub Markle’s Guiding Hand on the Red Carpet
Meanwhile, the dance video wasn’t the only clip that went viral from the gala. A red carpet moment also gained traction on social media. According to the video shared on X, Meghan Markle appears to direct David Foster and Katharine McPhee on the red carpet.
However, Foster appeared to disregard Markle’s guidance before McPhee joined the couple on the carpet for a group photo.
Eagle-eyed netizens who noticed this moment from the gala’s red carpet said, “the way [Markle’s] directing David Foster and Katharine McPhee, you’d think they were the guests at Harry and Meghan’s event.”
