- Mary Stuart Masterson returned to the Tribeca Film Festival this month for the first time in five years.

- The actress was celebrating the premiere of her film *Rain Reign *at the New York event.

Mary Stuart Masterson is returning to the red carpet.

The *Fried Green Tomatoes** *star made a rare public appearance on the red carpet for her film *Rain Reign *at the Tribeca Film Festival on June 6. Masterson's last known outing at the New York event was five years earlier in 2021. Then, she posed with Steve Buscemi, Griffin Dunne, and Richard Kind at the festival's welcome lunch.

*Rain Reign *is based on the 2014 book of the same name by Ann M. Martin, author of *The Baby-Sitters Club* series. The movie follows Rose, "a 12-year-old, neurodivergent girl cared for by her struggling single dad and well-meaning uncle," according to the drama's synopsis on Tribeca's website.

"When her beloved dog goes missing during a superstorm, she embarks on a search that will test her family's bonds and her own resilience," the description adds. Paul Rudd and Jeremy Sisto also star in the film.

Masterson made her debut as an actress in *The Stepford Wives* in 1975 at just 9 years old. Among her best-known acting credits are *Immediate Family*, *Some Kind of Wonderful*,* Fried Green Tomatoes*, *Benny & Joon*, and *Bad Girls*. In 2023, she appeared in the film *Five Nights at Freddy’s*, which is based on the video game of the same name.

She was nominated for the Best Performance by an Actress in a Featured Role in a Musical Tony Award in 2003 for her role in* Nine*.

Up next for the former teen star is the mafia movie *Sunny*, alongside Angelina Jolie, Charlie Plummer, Jason Schmidt, and Cliff “Method Man” Smith, according to *Deadline*.

Like many New York Knicks fans, Masterson was most recently celebrating their victory over the San Antonio Spurs in the NBA Finals, winning the NBA Championship for the first time in 53 years.

Masterson shared a photo of herself wearing a Knicks jersey on Instagram on June 13. "Let’s goooo!!!" she captioned the picture. "Love this team and the culture they have created. Brunson is a class act and an inspiration to us all," she added the morning after Game 5.
