- Martha Stewart is among the estimated 1 million fans attending Thursday's historic New York Knicks parade.

- The lifestyle mogul detailed her "complicated journey" to the event in an Instagram post.

- Meanwhile, throngs of fans lined the streets for a glimpse of the NBA champs.

When it comes to sports fandom, celebrities really are just like us… sort of.

A proud New Yorker and dedicated New York Knicks fan, Martha Stewart is among the estimated millions of people who rose from bed early on Thursday morning to celebrate the team's first NBA Championship in 53 years by attending the city's ticker-tape parade in the team's honor.

But unlike the throngs of fans who rushed to claim a good spot at the barrier, Stewart had a very different path getting to the event.

"Complicated journey to the @nyknicks celebratory parade," Stewart captioned a post on Thursday morning. "Leave Bedford 6 am, arrive at [Madison Square Garden] greeted by the big man himself owner James Dolan."

Stewart, who shared a photo of herself smiling alongside the team's owner, wrote that she then boarded a "huge bus" full of  "Knicks 'family' members," which traveled downtown with a police escort. From there, not only did Stewart get to enjoy a direct route to the parade, but she also began her day by having "breakfast with the Knicks."

About an hour later, Stewart shared a photo from inside City Hall — where the parade is culminating — in which she posed with New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani.

Needless to say, Stewart is having a very different experience than the fans who make up the sea of orange and blue Knicks merch taking over Lower Manhattan. Fans arrived before dawn to cheer on star players Jalen Brunson, OG Anunoby, Karl-Anthony Towns, and their teammates as they rode the mile-long route to City Hall. Some fans traveled from other states, while others paid hundreds of dollars to have line-waiters save spots for them.

Much of the area was shut down by the NYPD after fans filled the viewing pens to capacity hours before the parade was set to step off at 10 a.m. Footage from the event showed Knicks diehards filling the street, breaking through the police barriers, and climbing scaffolding as the crowd grew.

The parade itself saw the team rolling up the parade route in floats and on buses, touting signs that said, "Thank You Fans!" Meanwhile, team captain and MVP Jalen Brunson was seen carrying the NBA Championship trophy. The parade will close out with a ceremony at City Hall, which will include a performance from Alicia Keys, singing her NYC-based hit, "Empire State of Mind."

The celebratory parade comes on the heels of the Knicks defeat of the San Antonio Spurs in the NBA Finals 4-1 over the weekend, securing the team's first NBA Championship title since 1973 and ending a 53-year drought. The final game saw the team secure a remarkable 94–90 victory, with Brunson scoring 45 points in the game.

Stewart is among the several celebrities who became staples at Madison Square Garden during the NBA Finals, cheering the team on and celebrating their big wins from courtside seats.
