- Jimmy Kimmel told his *Jimmy Kimmel Live* audience that he isn't buying Tucker Carlson's heel turn after the conservative commentator apologized for supporting Donald Trump.
- During a podcast episode featuring his brother, Carlson claimed he was "sorry for misleading people" with his advocacy for Trump.
- "I believe they call that liar's remorse," Kimmel quipped during his monologue on *Jimmy Kimmel Live* Tuesday night.
Jimmy Kimmel isn't buying Tucker Carlson's recent 180 when it comes to supporting Donald Trump.
The late-night host spoke out about Carlson issuing an apology for supporting the president on his podcast during his Tuesday night monologue on *Jimmy Kimmel Live*, telling his audience that he believes the conservative commentator is "still plenty nuts."
“I mentioned last night Trump has fallen out with many of his most loyal MAGAts, including Tucker Carlson, who went so far as to apologize for ever supporting him in the first place,” Kimmel said. Kimmel then played footage from Carlson’s apology, in which he reflected on the fact that he and his brother, Buckley, who wrote speeches for Trump, were "the reason this is happening right now."
In the footage, Carlson said that "everyone who supported [Trump]" is now "implicated in this for sure." He added, "It's not enough to say, 'Well, I changed my mind' or, 'This is bad, I'm out.' It's very small ways, but in real ways, you and me and millions of people like us are the reason this is happening right now."
He continued, "I do think it's a moment to wrestle with our own consciences. We'll be tormented by it for a long time. I will be. And I want to say I'm sorry for misleading people. It was not intentional."

When the video ended, Kimmel noted, "That's big. I mean, Tucker Carlson apologizing for helping Trump get elected."
"I believe they call that liar's remorse," the late-night host then quipped.
He proved how sincere he found Carlson's mea culpa by going on to reference Carlson's infamous outrage that the green M&M allegedly went "woke" by desexualizing its mascot, joking, "Tucker also admitted he is in a same-sex relationship with a green M&M."
"All the kooks are breaking ranks: Marjorie Taylor Greene, Alex Jones, Megyn Kelly, Candace Owens, and now Tucker," Kimmel continued. "And that was his brother, Buckley. Did anyone know Tucker had a brother Buckley? Tucker and Buckley? That is as white as it gets. I mean, it doesn't get any whiter than that. Their parents were an ascot and a monocle."

Just in case his audience felt swayed by Carlson's apology, Kimmel was quick to give them a warning. "But lest you think Tucker is a completely changed man, don't worry, he's still plenty nuts," he said.
The comedian then showed a clip from the same podcast in which Carlson ranted against doctors, saying they were "the worst people in America" and that gynecologists have to "murder a baby" before being allowed to qualify.
"Thanksgiving at the Carlsons' must be a barrel of laughs," Kimmel joked. "I hope that when Tucker Carlson shows up at an emergency room one day, all he hears from the doctors is this..." he added, playing a prolonged supercut of Carlson's giggling. "Sometimes laughter is the worst medicine."

Jimmy Kimmel giving his monologue on April 21.
Carlson's podcast episode was only the latest in the former Fox News host's public breakup with Trump and his MAGA followers. The conservative podcaster was one of the first media personalities to denounce the war in Iran, openly criticizing the president for launching the military operation in February.

In March, Trump responded to Carlson's vocal opposition to his actions, telling ABC News that the media personality had "lost his way."
"I knew that a long time ago, and he's not MAGA," Trump added. "MAGA is saving our country. MAGA is making our country great again. MAGA is America first, and Tucker is none of those things. And Tucker is really not smart enough to understand that."
The president also took to Truth Social days after his announced two-week ceasefire with Iran earlier this month to sling more insults at Carlson's way. "Flailing Fools like Tucker Carlson, who couldn't even finish College, he was a broken man when he got fired from Fox, and he's never been the same," he wrote. "Perhaps he should see a good psychiatrist!"
