Jacob Elordi may soon share the screen with two-time Academy Award nominee Scarlett Johansson in the upcoming film Scapegoat. With almost a decade in the industry, Elordi has made a name for himself with roles in Euphoria, Saltburn, Frankenstein, Wuthering Heights, and The Kissing Booth.

Elordi has also earned an Academy Award nomination, three BAFTA nominations, and two Golden Globe nominations. While fans might be excited to see Elordi alongside Scarlett Johansson, it is worth noting that the actor is still in talks for Scapegoat. His casting has yet to be confirmed by the production.

Ari Aster, famous for Hereditary, Midsommar, and Beau is Afraid, is currently working on the film as its writer and director. The upcoming film is another A24 project, following the success of titles like The Drama, How to Make a Killing, Backrooms, and Tony.

If confirmed, Scapegoat could become another big milestone in Jacob Elordi's career, bringing together the Australian actor with Scarlett Johansson, one of Hollywood's celebrated stars. While at the beginning of his career, Elordi has taken teen-focused projects like The Kissing Booth starring Joey King and Joel Courtney, in recent years, he has gravitated towards more serious roles, which helped his star work with big names like Margot Robbie in Wuthering Heights and Oscar Isaac in Frankenstein.

Additionally, through these projects, Elordi has had the chance to work with many famous directors, including Emerald Fennell, Guillermo del Toro, and Sofia Coppola. If he lands the role in Scapegoat, it would be his first time working with both Ari Aster and Scarlett Johansson. He has two upcoming projects listed on IMDb, which include The Dog Stars starring Margaret Qualley and Josh Brolin and Outer Dark starring him alongside Lily-Rose Depp.

As of now, the plot of the film has not been revealed by the production. However, there is already much speculation about the story. While some believe it could be a sci-fi romance, others think it could be a thriller revolving around a famous person and a doctor. The official logline will only be known once the production team shares more details about the film.

Additionally, the full cast of the film has not been confirmed yet, with Scarlett Johansson currently the only confirmed name, as first reported earlier this year in May by Deadline. According to the outlet, if Jacob Elordi officially joins the project, filming is expected to begin in the coming months.

The director currently has nine upcoming projects in the works, including Primetime, Hansel and Gretel, The Looming, Lonely Hearts Club, Jonty, Enemies, Bushido, an untitled horror film, and Scapegoat.

In June, Aster also revealed that he wrote a prequel for his famous horror film Hereditary, which reportedly made over $90 million. But he never planned on releasing it, as it never felt the right time, adding that the story is a prequel, and he doesn't know where the new story will lead.
