Demi Lovato is officially reprising her role as Mitchie Torres in “Camp Rock 3”

Demi Lovato will reprise her role as Mitchie Torres in Camp Rock 3.

She previously appeared in Camp Rock and Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam alongside the Jonas Brothers.

The news comes days before the film’s Aug. 13 release.

She still rocks! Demi Lovato is officially reprising her role as Mitchie Torres in the upcoming Disney Channel Original Movie Camp Rock 3.

Lovato originally starred alongside the Jonas Brothers — Kevin Jonas, Joe Jonas and Nick Jonas — in Camp Rock (2008) and Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam (2010). Her character, Mitchie, attends the prestigious summer music camp and ends up impressing Joe’s Shane Gray with her voice. The franchise spawned the popular Lovato/Jonas Brothers duets “This Is Me” and “Wouldn’t Change a Thing.”

Camp Rock 3 follows a new generation of campers competing to open up for Connect 3 — the fake band played by Kevin, Joe and Nick —on tour. The soundtrack, available now, includes a new song from the brothers called “Come On Over.” The lead track, featuring star Liamani Segura and the cast, is titled “One Beat Away.”

When the brothers announced Camp Rock 3 last year, it was revealed Lovato would join them as an executive producer, but there was no confirmation she would reprise her on-screen role. Lovato and director Veronica Rodriguez previously dodged questions about a cameo from the pop star.

“You can’t really talk about Camp Rock or have a Camp Rock movie without referencing her. We love Mitchie,” Rodriguez told Entertainment Weekly in December 2025. “What I will say is that people should be excited to see some OG characters. You should feel all of those nostalgic vibes.”

She continued to tease the Easter eggs.

“We tried to put in as many things as we can into this movie, some iconic set pieces, the Jonas Brothers as Connect 3, and even Connie [Maria Canals-Barrera], Mitchie’s mom, has a bigger role in this movie,” she said. “So Mitchie is very much a character in this movie, in this world, and we should feel her, for sure, because she’s iconic and beloved and is a part of the Camp Rock legacy.”

Camp Rock 3 premieres on Disney Channel on Thursday, Aug. 13, at 8 p.m. ET, and is available to stream on Disney+ the following day.
