Christopher Knight, who played Peter Brady on The Brady Bunch, shared an exciting update about the house used as the exterior for the home in the show before asking for fans' help.

In a new post shared on his Instagram, Knight fans on the battle to get the home declared an official Los Angeles Historical-Cultural Monument by the Cultural Heritage Commission.

"The Brady Bunch House is set to be taken under consideration by the Cultural Heritage Commission at its second hearing for designation as a Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument," he wrote, with information in an accompanying video announcing that the hearing is set to take place on Jan. 15.

In text over the video, Knight revealed how fans can help in the upcoming hearing, saying, "Fans can show support by sending an email to the Cultural Heritage Commission by January 14th... Please let the commission know your feelings about why this house is special."

While the real Brady Bunch house was initially just a home in Studio City that was used for outside shots in the show, the inside was transformed into a replica of the set in the sitcom in 2019, thanks to HGTV and the renovation show, A Very Brady Renovation.

Knight Asked Fans To Send Letters for the Next Hearing

Knight shared more information in the caption and comments, noting that fans who previously wrote notes for the first hearing are welcome to do so again.

He added that the letters "should be in your own words," but he shared some suggestions for what fans could say, such as talking about the location's significance to The Brady Bunch and the sitcom's impact on TV history. For those interested in sending emails, Knight shared that they should be sent to [email protected], and the case number, #CHC-2025-5716-HCM, should be mentioned in either the subject line or body of the email.

Brady Bunch Fans Immediately Voiced Support

Fans quickly shared their earnest support in the comments, noting how important the house is to them and other Brady Bunch fans.

"As it should, it’s nothing if not historic," bluntly declared one fan, as another wrote, "I’ve said this for years - it’s like Graceland but to the generation who grew up watching!"

Someone else revealed that they already went to see the house in person due to its significance to the show and entertainment history, commenting, "My favorite house in tv history ! I went to see it last summer for my 50th birthday !!!"

Fans eager to see the house declared a Los Angeles Historical-Cultural Monument will have to wait and see what the commission decides after the upcoming second hearing. If the case proceeds through this hearing, then there will be a couple of other hearings with the City Council before the designation is official.
