Sean Lowe is still recovering mentally and physically after he was viciously attacked twice on the same day by his rescue dog.
Back in March, the *Bachelor *alum posted a video to his Instagram account recounting the harrowing ordeal, calling the series of attacks by his rescue dog Moose "pretty darn traumatic," leaving him "fighting for my life."
Lowe revisited the experience on a recent episode of *The Jordan Syatt Podcast*, where he revealed the aspect of the attacks that still haunts him. "I'm such a dog lover, and I never thought twice about putting my face in a dog's face," Lowe shared, "but now I do think twice about doing stuff like that."
While Lowe said he refuses "to say I have any sort of PTSD" because "there are real men who have been in battle who actually have things like that," he did confess, "The only PTSD I have is the thought of, 'What if it had been my children?' Because he absolutely would have killed my children, or my wife for that matter."**

Lowe met his wife, Catherine, on season 17 of *The Bachelor* in 2013, when he offered her his final rose. They now share three children, Samuel, Isaiah, and Mia. The family adopted Moose, a boxer, just three months before the attack. The ordeal began during a backyard barbecue, when drifting smoke set off his home's fire alarm. Lowe said Moose started "freaking out" and "biting my feet aggressively" when he waved a dish towel to clear the air.
"I'm trying to waft the smoke, and that aggression towards my feet, then he just went to me, and it's a straight dog attack," Lowe recalled. "He is on me and will not get off... I'm thinking he might have clipped my artery because it's literally squirting. There's pools of blood all over the floor."
With the help of a few friends, Lowe was able to separate himself from Moose and went to the hospital for stitches. He then set out to find a shelter that could give the dog a new home. The next afternoon, before they could connect Moose with his new home, he struck again.
"I hear as my parents pull up, I hear my wife say, 'No, no, no, no!' And I look, and I see Moose running out the front door," he recounted. "My heart just sinks, and I'm like, 'Please tell me it's good Moose and not crazy Moose. He just made a beeline at me and attacks me the second time."

"I just can't express to you the emotions that I was feeling. He just makes a beeline right at me, and it's like survival time," Lowe shared.
Lowe said he was forced to hold off Moose for about 10 minutes until police and an ambulance arrived. He then returned to the hospital for stitches to his other arm.
With months of time to process the experience, Lowe said they still "don't know what happened with Moose." But he does have theories: "A lot of people speculated, maybe it was a brain tumor." Others suggested Moose may have mistaken the rag Lowe was waving for a "bite rag," which is used in dog training to control canines' impulses to bite.
“Overall, I’m super grateful it was me, and it was not my kids or my wife. And that I made it out relatively unscathed. I’ll have scarred arms for the rest of my life, but I can live with that,” Lowe said.
Lowe also shared that in the aftermath, some "crazy dog people" who "are always going to side with dogs over humans" sent his family "a lot of hate" for getting rid of Moose. Through it all, Lowe said he still isn't angry with the boxer, adding, "We miss our dog, as crazy as it sounds.”**
