Anticipated Starz Spin-off TV Show With Justice League Star Scores Season 2 Renewal

A spinoff show for Starz, featuring Justice League star Shemar Moore, has just been renewed for a second season. Interestingly, S.W.A.T. Exiles season 2 got confirmed even before the premiere of its first season.
On Monday, August 10, 2026, Shemar Moore, who voiced Cyborg in the DC Animated Movie Universe, took to his Instagram account to drop the good news. Recording a video, Moore could be heard saying, “What’s goodie? What’s goodie? What’s goodie? Shemar Moore in the building. You also know me as Daniel ‘Hondo’ Harrelson. Mama, here come that man. I got such great news. S.W.A.T. Exiles just got picked up for Season 2, baby. That’s right. We start shooting in a couple months.”
With the second season already confirmed, S.W.A.T Exiles is scheduled to drop its first episode on September 25, 2026. Fans of the show can catch new episodes on Starz every week on Friday.
What else do we know about S.W.A.T. Exiles?
S.W.A.T Exiles’ plot will revolve around Hondo, who is now no longer leading the 20-David Squad. However, the experienced leader will be forced to make a comeback and engage with a group of young recruits.

The logline, per TV Insider, reads, “After stepping away from leading the 20-David Squad, Hondo is pulled back into action to lead a last-chance experimental S.W.A.T. unit made up of untested and unpredictable young recruits. Bridging a generational divide, Hondo must navigate clashing personalities and turn a squad of outsiders into a team capable of protecting the city and saving the program that made him who he is.”
While Moore will be playing a central role, the cast will also feature Lucy Barrett (Sammy), Ronen Rubinstein (Jude), Adain Bradley (Malik), Zyra Gorecki (Cassidy), and Freddy Miyares (Ethan). Additionally, the show will also have members from the original S.W.A.T series. Jay Harrington (Sergeant David Kay), David Lim (Victor Tan), and Patrick St. Esprit (Commander Robert Hicks) will reprise their roles for the new show.
As for season 2, while no release date has been confirmed, there is a possibility that the second season will drop sometime around the latter part of 2027.
