Last month, during her appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers, The Odyssey star raved about how “amazing” her pregnancy has been so far. Hathaway also revealed that she was “shocked” to learn she was pregnant again.

“Oh, my gosh. It’s amazing. It’s amazing,” she told host Seth Meyers of her pregnancy. “I mean, we knew what we were doing, but we were so shocked it worked.”

“We were so shocked it went this way, so we’re calling this one our buzzer-beater,” Hathaway added with a laugh.

After recently calling her baby on the way a “buzzer-beater,” Hathaway gave insight into the deeper meaning behind the nickname at the New York City premiere of The Odyssey on July 14.

“There’s always hope until there’s not, but when you get to a certain age, that hope looks like 1% to 2%,” she told Access Hollywood. “So we just decided to see where life took us, with a very, very healthy, realistic expectation, which was very low.”

Hathaway added, “We’re overjoyed because we just know from personal experience that not everybody gets this, and certainly not when you want it—sometimes not ever.”

She concluded, saying it’s a “blessing” she and Shulman “do not take for granted.”
