Angel Reese breaks silence with five-word message after poking ex-teammate in eye

Angel Reese has broken her silence after appearing to poke former LSU teammate Aneesah Morrow in the eye during a heated WNBA clash.
During one sequence in the game between the Atlanta Dream and Toronto Tempo, Morrow was matched up with Reese, her former LSU teammate. After Maria Conde missed a shot, both players went up for the rebound, although Morrow appeared to mistime her jump.
As Reese positioned herself underneath the basket, her left hand rose and appeared to catch Morrow in the right eye as the two competed for the ball. Morrow immediately staggered away from the play and was later seen checking her eye several times to make sure she was okay. No foul was called on Reese for the incident. It comes as DiJonai Carrington added a twist to the "white privilege" uproar after the ugly Sophie Cunningham incident.

The Dream cruised to a 107-95 victory on home court, improving to 20-12 on the season. After the victory, Reese took to X to celebrate the Dream's impressive win. “DUBS IN THE MF CHAT,” she wrote.
Reese was one of six Dream players to finish in double figures, highlighting the depth of Atlanta's roster and the challenge they pose for opposing defenses.

"It just showed you how good our team is," she said postgame. "We've struggled. We've had highs and lows. We've always stayed together. We came in and put the work in every single day, so I'm proud of our team, proud of the girls, and I'm proud of the city for always coming out and supporting us."

Reese continued her impressive run of form by recording another double-double against Toronto, finishing with 20 points and 14 rebounds. She shot 7-of-14 from the field, went 5-of-6 from the free-throw line and knocked down one of her three attempts from beyond the arc.
"It don't mean nothing without a win," she admitted. "It don't mean nothing without my teammates. My teammates always have my back. They support me.
"Last game, I was 1 for 12, and I was very hard on myself, and just trying to get back in the gym, figure out the things that I messed up on last game, and how I can help the team win, and I'm just happy to be here. I'm happy to be a Dream, and I'm just happy to continue on."
Reese’s latest double-double adds to a WNBA career that has seen her rapidly climb the league’s record books. She recorded 26 double-doubles during her rookie season, the second-most in a single season in WNBA history, while her 13.1 rebounds per game set a rookie record.
Atlanta will next face the Connecticut Sun, while Toronto is set to take on Paige Bueckers and the Dallas Wings.
