Sadie Sink's siblings share her love of entertainment.
Raised in Brenham, Texas, the Stranger Things star is the second-youngest of five siblings. Her parents, Lori and Casey Sink, welcomed boys Caleb, Spencer and Mitchell before Sadie was born. After her arrival, they had one more child, a daughter named Jacey, and they raised their family of seven in the Lone Star State.
Their mother is responsible for Sadie pursuing acting, enrolling her and Mitchell in singing, dancing and acting classes after watching the two recreate scenes from High School Musical in their home growing up, Fashion magazine reported. “My mom drove us to all these things — not in the hope of [us] ever going to Broadway or anything like that, but because they were activities we loved doing,” Sadie told the outlet in July 2022.
Over the years, Sadie and Mitchell fed into each other’s obsession with musical theater, and they joined community theater when Sadie was 9 years old, per Backstage. When Sadie landed her first Broadway role playing the lead character in Annie at 10 years old, her whole family relocated to New York to help her pursue acting, she told Glamour UK.
“My family has always been so supportive of me and my career,” she said in the June 2022 interview. “Theatre was such a big part of my life growing up.”
Sadie and Mitchell, though, aren’t the only Sink siblings who have pursued performing acts. Sadie’s two oldest brothers, Caleb and Spencer — who were studying finance in college while Sadie was playing her breakout role in the second season of Stranger Things — have started their own band in New York, while the youngest Sink sibling, Jacey, has played a younger version of Sadie’s characters in multiple projects.
From their strong sibling bond to their shared performance skills, here’s everything to know about Sadie Sink and her siblings.

Mitchell, the sibling closest in age to Sadie, helped feed into her love for acting and performing from a young age — and as a result, they two became close.
“My best friend in the world is my brother Mitchell,” Sadie told Glamour UK. “We trust each other, and we’re open and honest with one another. That’s super important to me. It’s a very special bond.”
Though their family was “sports-oriented,” Sadie and Mitchell were instead fascinated with Broadway as kids, Sadie told Vogue Singapore in May 2022. They both enrolled in acting, singing and dancing classes and earned roles in community theater productions.
“For some reason, Mitchell and I had this gravitation towards performing arts — musical theater, specifically,” she told the outlet. “We could always be found in the back room streaming Broadway bootlegs on YouTube or watching Tony performances. It was just this weird obsession that we shared.”
Just as Sadie’s career has spanned both screen and the stage (from her first role in Annie to The Audience with Helen Mirren and The Glass Castle with Woody Harrelson and Brie Larson), so has Mitchell’s.
Mitchell has had small roles in the series The Crowded Room and Extrapolations, as well as Taylor Swift’s “All Too Well” short film alongside Sadie, according to his IMDB page.

While Sadie and Mitchell were interested in performing from an early age, their older brothers took a more traditional career path.
Caleb graduated from Seton Hall University with a degree in finance and marketing in 2018, according to his LinkedIn and Instagram. He's worked in partnerships for the New York Giants since 2019.
In 2022, Sadie appeared in an episode of Eli’s Extras — a New York Giants YouTube segment hosted by Eli Manning — with Caleb. In it, Eli and Sadie competed in a Christmas-themed cookie decorating competition, and a panel of judges, including Caleb, voted Sadie the winner.
“This is really tough, coworker versus sister. But I’m going to have to go with my sister,” Caleb said while casting his vote.
After the show, Caleb posted an Instagram photo with Sadie, Eli and former football player Shaun O’Hara with the caption, “Bring your sister to work day!! Watch us on the eli manning show.”
Spencer also graduated from Seton Hall with a degree in finance and law in 2019. Three years later, he graduated from the University of Missouri-Kansas City with a law degree in 2022. He is an associate attorney at a law firm in New Jersey, according to his LinkedIn.
While the two brothers have more traditional day jobs, they’ve followed in their sister’s footsteps in entertainment as well — starting a band, Sink or Swim, together in August 2023.
The bank released their first EP in February 2024, At Your Own Risk, with both Caleb and Spencer contributing vocals, per their Instagram.

Jacey Sink in 'The Whale'
Jacey, the youngest Sink sibling, has played a younger version of Sadie’s characters in two projects: Stranger Things and The Whale.
In 2019, Jacey — who looks similar to her older sister, by Sadie’s own admission — played a younger version of Sadie’s character Max Mayfield in Stranger Things.
In a scene from the season 3 episode “Chapter Six: E Pluribus Unum,” Eleven witnesses a handful of Max’s stepbrother Billy’s memories, and she sees the moment when Billy meets Max — played by Jacey — for the first time.
In the 2022 movie The Whale, Jacey again played a younger version of Sadie’s character — Ellie, the daughter of Brendan Fraser’s Charlie.
On Late Night with Seth Meyers in 2023, Sadie explained how her “mini-me” Jacey got the role. “Darren [Aronofsky], the director, had added this flashback sequence where they’re at a beach and they needed an eight-year-old version of me, so they asked for Jacey,” Sadie said.
In an Interview Magazine story with Rooney Mara in December 2022, Rooney asked if Sadie ever went through an angsty teenage phase like her character in The Whale. Sadie told Rooney that she was personally never allowed to have “outbursts of rage or angst” because she was always on set working with adults.
On the other hand, she said her then-12-year-old sister Jacey was "definitely going through that angsty teenage phase where she likes to pick arguments and be very aggressive.”

Sadie’s siblings are especially supportive of her work, from watching all of her projects to helping her prepare for roles and attending premieres.
Her siblings are “big fans” of Stranger Things, Sadie said on Late Night with Seth Meyers in 2023, and she often lets them read the show’s scripts before the season premieres.
“I’m bad, and I’ll just give my family the scripts. If [my brothers] want to read it, I’ll let them — I think that’s okay,” she said. “They don’t tell anyone. But they’re big fans of the show.”
Sadie also enlisted Mitchell’s help in learning her lines for The Whale, she told W Magazine in December 2022. The director asked the cast to memorize the script from start to finish, as if it were a play, before filming, so Mitchell helped her run and practice her lines, the outlet reported.
Sadie said that although Mitchell helped her prepare for the role, the first time he saw the film at the New York City screening — along with her parents, Spencer, and Caleb — it left him in tears.
“He was sobbing,” she told W Magazine. “My whole family was there, and they were a wreck, too. They’ve never seen me in something like this.”
Unlike Mitchell, her other family members did not see the scripts for The Whale before watching the movie.
“For this, they didn’t know much about my character — about anything,” Sadie said on Jimmy Kimmel Live in December 2022.
But after the New York premiere screening, her brother Spencer said, “Your character’s a dirtbag. You’re awful in it,” Sadie told host Jimmy Kimmel, adding that she got defensive about her teenage character.
She continued, “When he said that Ellie was a dirtbag, I didn’t take it well. But he’s also a lawyer now, so he had some pretty fair points to bring up. So I was kind of convinced.”
Her family has also come with her to other events and premieres. In 2017, Spencer went to the American Music Awards in Los Angeles with Sadie and the rest of the Stranger Things cast. “California knows how to party #AMA’s,” he captioned an Instagram photo of him and his sister before the event.
In 2019, all five siblings went to the Stranger Things season 3 premiere in California, per a now-deleted post on Caleb’s Instagram. Three years later, Mitchell attended the Stranger Things season 4 premiere, according to an Instagram post.

The Sink siblings spend a lot of time traveling with one another, both in the United States and abroad.
Sadie and Mitchell traveled to London in 2019 and to Croatia in 2024 together, while Sadie and Jacey traveled to Paris in 2020, according to Mitchell and Sadie’s Instagram accounts.
Jacey and Sadie also went to Disneyland in California in 2019 — a somewhat far trip from where her family lives in New Jersey.
“Had a magical day with my favorite sister yesterday. Thank you @Disneyland,” Sadie captioned a since-removed Instagram post of her and Jacey hugging in front of a Ferris wheel at the park.
When she’s not traveling, though, Sadie has said she enjoys spending time at home with her family.
“I love it here,” she told Vogue Singapore when she was back at her parent’s house. “Being an actress, I feel like I’m always traveling and jumping around from place to place. It’s nice to have a family home to come back to.”
